Program Outline

There are five topics to be discussed in these national symposia, which will be packed in a symposium. These five topics enable the involvement of participants with various disciplines. The five topics are:

Agrosociopreneurs in National Economic Development in the Society 5.0

Farmers regeneration and the growth of young generation interest towards agriculture sector are two of many issues that we have to overcome. We need to conduct studies from various disciplines regarding the role of vocational education in generating independent, professional, and competent agrosociopreneur. The scope of this topic could be including government policies, role of agrosociopreneur in economic development, capacity building of Agrosociopreneur to face Society 5.0 and innovation to face Era Industry 4.0.

Improving Value Chain for Food Crops and Horticulture Products

Consumers’ awareness in the era industry 4.0 and society 5.0 are improving nowadays, particularly on the high quality food.  Quantity of food dan vegetables is not an important issue anymore.  However, it has been shifted into quality and competitiveness.  To produce quality food, improving value chains are a must.  In this context, several factors should be considered are Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Management Practices (GMP), Good Handling Practice (GHP), reducing food chains, as well as market penetration both in domestic and export markets

Animal Welfare and Livestock Technology Supporting Self-Sufficiency

Industrial revolution 4.0 has been progressing rapidly. Technology innovation and adaptation in the field of animal welfare, livestock production, and animal feed has also implicated by these rapid changes. The implementation of industrial revolution 4.0 in these fields includes automation in livestock management and technologies, feed production management and technologies, biotechnology, animal welfare and veterinary, livestock data management, as well as socio-economic and policy.  It is aimed to improve efficiency in utilizing resources and to increase yield which will improve farmers’ welfare.

Agricultural Mechanization in the Era Industry 4.0

In the era of industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0, agricultural mechanization is tasked to be adaptive to the rapid changes and able to innovate in order to cope with technology development. The implementation of new technology in agriculture is intended to produce and process agricultural product efficiently. This topic includes agricultural technology application such as information and communication technology (ICT) and other application of agricultural mechanization technology such as postharvest and Food Engineering, energy and agricultural machinery including smart farming technology, agricultural data management, internet of things, precision agriculture, as well as cloud computing.  The topics on land management, irrigation engineering and management, water and soil conservation engineering are also necessary to be presented.

Agribusiness of Estate Crops to Develop National Exports

The Indonesian agriculture sector is a significant contributor to foreign exchange, particularly estate crops. Some of the estate crops are commodities that have become promising and able to compete in the global markets. The main commodities of Indonesian estate crops are peppers, nutmegs, cloves, sugar canes, deep coconuts, oil palms, rubbers, cocoa, coffee and tea.  An increase in the value of exports will be achieved if the products produced meet the standards, as well as the role and commitment of the government as regulator and facilitator through established policies. What is happening right now is a decrease in productivity and quality of estate crops.  Something need to be done is to hasten the rejuvenation of plants adapted to the best growing season. On the other hand effort that should be made including, market development and market access; quality standard, postharvest and processing; as well as regulatory aspects in tariff barrier and non-tariff barrier.
